So...A-MIRROR-CA (show #1 of 4 for this spring) is over. Here are a few pics:

AND...It's springtime, so you know what that means...baseball, flowers, allergies...and...MUSICALS!!
Just wanted to send out a little reminder to everyone that 'Damn Yankees' is only 2 weeks away!!!
DAMN YANKEES is the only successful musical comedy built around the American national pastime of baseball--the baseball story neatly combined with the age-old Faust theme. Joe Hardy is a middle-aged, happily married baseball fan. He is found in his living-room watching a game over the television. Joe is in the depths of despair, for his favorite team, the Washington Senators, seems incapable of getting a winning stride. Suddenly the devil, in the person of Applegate, visits him with a proposition: Would Joe be willing to trade his soul if the Senators won not only the pennant but also the World Series? Come and find out what Joe decides and where his future may lie...
Thursday 4/19 - 8 pm
Friday 4/20 - 8 pm
Saturday 4/21 - 2 pm & 8 pm
Sunday 4/22 - 2 pm
General Public: $18
Seniors: $15
Students (with any student ID): $5
Call: 401.456.8144
Also...as some of you may or may not know, there is a free newspaper for the arts in Providence called 'Motif'. Every year they have award nominations for theatre that honor college/university, community and semi-/professional theatres around Rhode Island.
I'm writing this because three of the shows that I was in have been nominated in several categories. 'The Foreigner' at RIC, 'The Tempest' at RIC and 'Dancing at Lughnasa' with the Pawtucket Community Players.
Also, I was nominated for my role in 'The Foreigner' for best college/university performance!!!!! :D

I am also up against some very talented people, so I am completely honored just to be nominated!!
Voting is open to anyone, so if you saw any of the shows please go and vote for who you think should win -- or even if you didn't see them, just to show your support!! :)

That links directly to the page...but if you would also like to vote for Music (including my friends Corinne Wahlberg and Chris Rosenquest) you can go to the Motif homepage:

Thanks so much and happy voting!! ;)

I HATE when people don't know how to spell.
A short video of me and Justin singing 'I Will Never Leave You' from the musical Side Show. The song is usually sung by two women, and they are portraying conjoined twin sisters, Violet and Daisy. DEFINITELY not my best singing - still sick :( boo!! - but fun, nonetheless.
WHAT?!?!
that can't be right...
now I REALLY have to step it up.
that can't be right...
now I REALLY have to step it up.
So, I'm not officially out of the competition...yet.
But judging on the way things have turned out thus far, it will only be a matter of time. I could have delivered, but didnt.
Sucks, though, that my pictures had to be re-cropped and then stretched. That's what you get, though, for not paying attention to the rules.
anyways...
Other things to focus on now, though, within the next 2 weeks:
Getting healthy
"Dancing at Lughnasa" - staying alive and somewhat healthy until the show closes
"A-MIRROR-CA" - another show/burlesque that I am rehearsing for currently
"Damn Yankees" rehearsals start in what...? 2 weeks??
"Consent" - the traveling show that I am in which I get paid for, but also have to miss school for
"You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" - ok, so it doesn't start performing until May, but with everything else going on, we are rehearsing in the few blocks of time that we all have off
Taking 18 credits this semester, of course. For 'Basic Wig-Styling and Construction,' though, I spent an additional 7-8 hours in the shop this week outside of class, working on my wig. If that is the case every week, I'm not going to be able to take the class. :(
A multitude of auditions coming up for SummerStock theatre's, and trying to figure out where to audition, what to audition with and how the hell I am going to manage any of that.
Working at the box office, not an insane amount, but enough. Once the show is over this weekend, I'll go back to my typical 27 hour weekend at J.Crew. Awesome.
When will I do homework and write papers and study my lines and study for exams??
How am I going to pay my bills when I haven't worked the past 2 weekends, because of the show, and am still owed a chunk of money by a certain someone...??
What the fuck made me think I would have time to be in a silly little modeling competition on top of all of this??
And why the hell can't I learn how to say 'No'??
And what little money I did have, all went to paying for food and gas at ACTF last week (granted we SHOULD be getting re-imbursed...soon...I hope) And I also missed a weeks worth of school work and am never going to make it all up. And my throat still hurts really bad. And I have no clean underwear. Eww.
And last night I confessed my love to the love of my life, basically. And I don't even know what will come of it. If anything.
but really, I'm ok with it all.
thank god it's not my time of the month!! ;)

I am officially an ordained minister in the 'Universal Life Church'.
No word of a lie.
Anyone want to get married?? I swear I don't charge that much!!

"The Universal Life Church is the only denomination in the world that opens its doors to all, welcomes all who ask to get ordained, become a minister and grants it without question. We are a non-denominational ULC church. We support a full spectrum interfaith ministry. Over 20 million ULC ministers have been ordained through out the world. We make no religious hurdles, no hoops to jump through, no tests of loyalty, no rings to kiss and no fees to pay. Why? The ULC Monastery represents freedom, and to have freedom you can not make demands upon individuals; in the ULC Monastery everyone is equal - the same level of greatness is enjoyed by all. We will be your personal minister/consulate and advisor, with your consent at no charge to you. We are here for you each day. There is a scripture which says "there is a friend, which sticketh closer than a brother". We wish to be that friend for you. We ordain all who ask and welcome you to the Universal Life Church Monastery Ministries."
hehehe!! ^_^

I am sick.
REALLY sick.
You know, the "Acid-Reflux, sexy hoarse voice, coughing up lungs and I wore sweatpants to class today" kind of sick.
This is basically what I feel and look like right now...

or this...

The Paradoxical Commandments
by Dr. Kent M. Keith
1. People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
2. If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
3. If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
4. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
5. Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
6. The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.
7. People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
8. What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
9. People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.
10. Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.
It's worth a shot...
If only it were that easy...
